HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION IN THE COMMUNITY – APPLICATIONS

Learning Objectives

After successfully completing the course, students are expected to be able to:

  • Recognize the health needs of different population targets in the community.
  • Identify and utilize resources for health promotion in the community.
  • Prioritize health promotion for different population groups in the community.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive health promotion programs within interdisciplinary health teams.

Course Content

The course content includes lectures and seminars (group project presentations) and assists students to become familiar with the applications of comprehensive health promotion interventions in different population groups. The course covers the following topics:

  • Design of comprehensive health promotion programs in the community.
  • Implementation/application of comprehensive programs in the community.
  • Evaluation of comprehensive programs in the community.
  • Comprehensive health promotion programs for children.
  • Comprehensive health promotion programs for adolescents and young adults.
  • Comprehensive health promotion programs in the workplace.
  • Comprehensive health promotion programs for the elderly.
  • Comprehensive health promotion programs for vulnerable population groups.
  • Comprehensive programs for promoting mental health.
  • Case studies and best practices at national and international levels.
  • Seminars - Presentation of group projects.
